The IWCZ is an action packed club, with dynamic and interactive activities planned year around. These activities are open to all club members – to participate in these activities individuals have to sign up for annual club membership. The club welcomes one-time guests as well. The IWCZ's Activities Coordinators ensure members are offered a balanced and diverse range of activities that showcases the best of Zagreb and Croatia. Details of club events are shared through the monthly Newsletter via e-mail. Members also receive a weekly activity update via email as well as an overall calendar of proposed Club activities.
IWCZ General Meetings The IWCZ monthly General Meetings are held at the Sheraton Hotel on the second Tuesday of the month from 10am to 12am. This is a great time to catch up with old friends, interact with new ones, share a bite, and enjoy the special programs on offer – guest speakers, special themes, etc. A nominal 50 Kuna cover is charged for refreshments on offer. The language of communication at club activities is English. IWCZ also hosts a monthly Networking and Happy Hour Soiree on the second Thursday of the month from 6pm to 8pm. This is a great opportunity for busy individuals to continue their involvement with the club. Those attending are required to contribute a 50 Kuna refreshment cover. CLUB INTEREST GROUPS In addition to a set of unique monthly activities, the IWCZ hosts a set of interest groups; each group is active through the month. Details and contact information can be gathered from our monthly Newsletter. Access to one or more of these groups is conditional to club membership – club membership comes at 400 Kuna per year.
IWCZ Groups:
IWC activities are organized by members on a voluntary basis and free of charge (with some exceptions). We encourage members with special interests, knowledge or skills to share these with other members. Special Activities Every month the activities coordinators organize special visits. These include guided museum tours, visits to local art galleries and traditional craft workshops, daytrips to local vineyards and breweries, culinary classes and tastings, health and wellbeing workshops, photography courses, and more. Events are organized within and outside Zagreb. Charity Events The club organizes special events to raise money for charity. Our primary programs include: The Christmas Bazaar (November/December) Food Festival (May/June) Special Lunches (Throughout the year)
Our main annual event is the Christmas Bazaar. It is held in November-December, and is open to the general public. Most countries with diplomatic representations in Zagreb join us and present their national foods, crafts and products at the bazaar. Since our first Christmas Bazaar in 1995, this annual event is now a well known fixture on the local calendar, renowned for its great atmosphere and an international selection of Christmas goodies. |
